“We are all apprentices in a craft where no one ever becomes a master.”

– Ernest Hemingway

PS: This (endurance and persistence) also mirrors the themes of my personal journey and writings… though definitely without the quality of the “master writer”.

Still…

“If a man is called to be a street sweeper,
he should sweep streets even as a Michaelangelo painted,
or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry.
He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say,
‘Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”

― Dr Martin Luther King Jr.

The Enduring Hemingway: ” One must, first of all, endure.”

“The need to endure was central in (to) Ernest Hemingway’s philosophy of life…”, said Charles Scribner, Jr.

As well as being the central theme in many of “the master writer’s books. And this was the reason that particular title was chosen for the anthology.

As Hemingway often said: ”One must, first of all, endure.”

and

“You only have to endure to conquer.”

– Winston Churchill
